About Rita

I’m Rita, a Bédik woman from Kédougou, Senegal…

Hello, and welcome to my world.

My name is Rita. I am Bédik, from the Kédougou region of Senegal, in West Africa.

I’m a country girl, and I’m taking you with me to discover city life — its beauty, its culture, its stories, its food, its people and its everyday rhythm.

Here, you will see life as it really is, through my eyes.

You will meet extraordinary people, hear stories you have never heard, see places you may never have seen, and live those unexpected moments that make every journey special.

I am here to show you that beautiful stories can begin anywhere — even in the smallest village or the smallest town.

  1. 01 — My roots

    Bédik, from Kédougou

I am Bédik. I come from the Kédougou region, in south-eastern Senegal, West Africa. That is where my story — and this project — begins.

  2. 02 — Country girl

    A country girl’s eyes

I am a country girl. That is where my way of looking at the world comes from — and why small places and ordinary days matter so much to me.

  3. 03 — Curiosity

    Then I discovered the city

The city has its own beauty: its noise, its energy, its food, its fashion, its people from everywhere. I see it with fresh eyes — and I want you to see it with me.

  4. 04 — Storytelling

    Why I tell stories

Many people talk about Africa. Fewer take the time to listen to the people who live here. I want to sit down, ask questions and let people tell their own stories.

My promise is simple: real people, real stories, real life. No postcards. No clichés. Just what I see.

Why Rita Bédik Daily exists

To show Africa as it is lived — through my eyes.

Rita Bédik Daily is my home on the internet: a place for stories about people, places, food, culture and everyday life.

It begins in Kédougou and in Senegal. With time, I hope to take you across West Africa and further — always with the same promise: real people, real stories, real life.

The Rita Letter

Stories, discoveries and personal notes from Rita.

The things that don’t fit in a video: what happened behind the camera, the people I met, the questions you asked me — once a week or every two weeks, never more.
